⁴⁸ Jesus asked them, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me as if I were a bandit?^{[a] 49} Day after day I was with you in the Temple teaching, yet you didn’t arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.” ⁵⁰ Then all the disciples^[b] deserted Jesus^[c] and ran away.
